Surviving Mars Receives New Mysteries In Surprise Free DLC

The Mysteries Resupply Pack adds extra spice to Surviving Mars' endgame.

Surviving Mars is a colony simulator packed with optimism. The Red Planet awaits adventurous souls, but somehow my colonies always end up packed with idiots and succumbing to lack of food, oxygen or asteroids. The universe's contempt for me aside, a surprise free DLC for the game was released today on PC, arriving tomorrow on consoles. The Mysteries Resupply Pack adds three new Mysteries to the game. If you don't know what they are, we're talking about events inspired by various science fiction works that also come with attached narrative.

According to a post on the Paradox forums, the DLC contains the following mysteries:

  • St. Elmo's Fire - Colonists find it hard to get a good night’s sleep, especially when mysterious lights begin appearing where they have no reason to be. What is causing these unexpected apparitions and is it connected to the confusing changes in the water supply?
  • The Philosopher's Stone - Encounter beings that are a far cry from the fleshy bags we call carbon-based life when the colony stumbles upon entirely crystalline entities. Are they here to be of assistance or only out to protect the family jewels?
  • Metatron - Colonists look to the sky agape as a great floating monolith has parked itself directly above the fledgling colony. Does it come in peace or is it even sentient? Either way, it is certainly blocking the views from the dome!

Surviving Mars is out now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
