The "Curiosity" Update For Surviving Mars Adds New Domes, The Command Center And A Tutorial

The "Curiosity" Update For Surviving Mars launches next week on PC, reaching consoles on June 12th.

Colony simulator Surviving Mars has been out for more than two months now, meaning that the number of dead colonists most likely rivals that of dust particles on the Red Planet. Developer Haemimont Games hasn't been slacking during this time, putting out two updates focusing on requested features such as dome policies and dome-connecting passages and being close to finishing work on the third. Dubbed "Curiosity", it brings with it a number of additions, the first of which are five new dome types. They represent alternatives to existing dome types, being cheaper to build while offering less habitable space or being unable to house a spire.

The Command Center aims to reduce micromanagement by allowing players to manage buildings, colonists and vehicles without individually selecting them. Judging by the screenshot inside the developer diary, it looks to be quite a boon, especially once the colony grows significantly. Lastly, the update will introduce a five-part tutorial which aims to ease newer players into the Surviving Mars experience. The "Curiosity" update will be free for all owners of Surviving Mars and is set to release next week on PC and on June 12th on consoles.
