Surviving Mars "Spirit" Update Now Live On PC

The latest Surviving Mars update addresses colonist job prioritization and pays tribute to Stephen Hawking.

The latest Surviving Mars update, dubbed "Spirit", went live today on PC, addressing a couple of issues the playerbase has brought up since the game's release at the middle of last month. Domes have received birth control policies, allowing players to control which domes allow births and which don't. Colonists will now prioritize picking the best workplace for their specialization and will also no longer try to walk long distances between domes only to die in the process. The maximum zoom out distance has also been increased.

The list of changes is fairly large, including a reduced chance for the "Idiot" trait to appear in colonies and applicant pools, alongside a handful of UI changes. The Science Institute building has also been renamed to Hawking Institute, as tribute to Stephen Hawking. Have a look at the full patch notes. An update for the console version will come in the near future. Surviving Mars is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
