Titanfall Mobile Game Canceled

Canceled Titanfall mobile game to be used in future Titanfall mobile games

By Grayshadow, Posted 16 Jan 2017

Last year Titanfall 2 brought the series to new heights by introducing a well-paced single-player campaign and plenty of refined multiplayer mechanics. However, today Particle City confirmed that the mobile title set in the Titanfall universe, Titanfall: Frontline, has been canceled.

The mobile card game was available for closed beta on iOS and Android devices while in development however Particle City has suggested that the title did not live up to expectations and has decided to scrap the entire project. The game's servers will be taken offline this week on Friday, January 20th and decided to take aspects of Titanfall: Frontline for future Titanfall mobile games.

"It is our goal to create the best Titanfall mobile games that showcase the fast-paced action, mobility and, of course, the power of Titans in this iconic series. We’ve learned an incredible amount in the beta test of Titanfall: Frontline, but in the end felt the experience wasn't ready to deliver the intense action-packed gameplay synonymous with Titanfall. While it’s never easy to cancel a game, we’re excited to take some of the concepts we saw resonate with players and build off of them in future Titanfall mobile games. Titanfall: Frontline’s closed beta will be winding down in the next few days, and servers will go offline on January 20, 2017. We want to thank you for your support of Titanfall: Frontline."

Titanfall 2 is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and Origin PC. I reviewed the game and gave it a 90/100, check out the full review here.
