New Rumor Suggests Upcoming Titanfall 3 Announcement

Respawn Entertainment could be announcing Titanfall 3 soon, thanks to an unconfirmed teaser trailer circulating online.

We're probably all familiar with Apex Legends, the fun character focused Battle Royale that was successfully able to knock Fortnite down a notch, what you're probably not familiar with is that Apex Legends is a spin-off of Titanfall. The series has been dormant since the souls-inspired second entry was released with numerous bugs and other technical issues, Titanfall 2 still featured phenomenal storytelling and excellent character development that is a must play in our books, if you can look past the technical issues which have mostly been patched out.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the series, the original Titanfall was released back in 2014 and was a multiplayer-only title that was exclusive to the Xbox One. The game struggled to attract an audience due to it not having the single-player experience that many players had been hoping for. Due to a lack of interest, the game is considered a commercial failure, despite the game having some well-polished and fun gameplay. However, the series attempted to redeem itself with Titanfall 2, which was released on multiple platforms and was much more focused on providing players with a rich narrative focused single-player experience. Sadly, the game had a poor release window and was released alongside none other than Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1. This was yet another unfortunate blow to the series.

Though the games struggled to have successful releases, they have garnered a phenomenal fanbase that for a longtime, have been clamoring for a third entry. However, this seemed unlikely due to the success of Apex Legends, it looked like the studio's focus was elsewhere, or was it? A teaser trailer for Titanfall 3 has surfaced online, and even though it isn't official, it has still caused quite a stir. The video was originally posted on both Twitter and Reddit by user JHaleStorm. In the trailer, we clearly see the Respawn logo and the word "Worldwide Reveal" in the same font as Titanfall alongside the date, 27 October 2023. This fades and we see on its own is the number 3.

The studio did successfully release Star Wars Jedi: Survivor earlier this year, so it would make sense for them to work on a new project such as Titanfall 3. It is unclear how far along development for the game is but with the date featured, we will hopefully hear more about Titanfall 3 soon. As per usual, take this with a grain of salt as we still need official confirmation.
