Gran Turismo 7’s Free June Update Brings Classic and New Toys to Play With

Even though it’s a bit lacking on the content side, Polyphony was still able to bring new cars to the roster this month.

Polyphony Digital is still supporting Gran Turismo 7 after its first year of release with new content. While these updates arrive every month, it is completely randomized which cars or tracks will appear. To tease players, both Kazanori Yamauchi and Gran Turismo’s official Twitter page share silhouettes of the cars that will be added in the upcoming weeks. This gives speculation between players and creates a hype train in the community as well.

Last month, the game received three cars and a much-needed change to modifying cars within the range of compatibility. Alongside the quality of life updates, the May update was well-received. However, this month, players found it a bit lacking because the June update only focused on the new three cars and nothing else. Most of the players were anticipating an arrival of a new track or a new layout of the existing track. Though this might seem effortless, it might just mean that Polyphony is currently focusing on a larger scale of additions.

This month’s vehicles are special in their categories and certainly were desired to be in the game by the regulars. For the supercar slot, an Aston Martin Valkyrie ‘21 takes the place. The other two are classic JDM cars that are somewhat competitive against each other. One of them is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR III ‘95 and the other is the Subaru Impreza WRX ‘05.

The other content added to the Gran Turismo 7 is the new café menu books about both the Subaru and Mitsubishi line of cars. These vehicles complete the trio of menu books, and players can add another set of models to their garages by competing with said cars in the single-player mode. Talking about the single-player mode, Music Rally, also got also six new tracks to drive on. Players can now drive to the rhythm of six new music tracks to get a nice feeling of their drive.

Gran Turismo 7’s June update will be completely free and will be live from the 29th of June.
