The Game Awards has officially wrapped up, and here are some of the biggest announcements between the awards, occasionally cringe-y guest hosts, and the many adverts on display.

Elden Ring, The Game Awards, Death Stranding 2, Hades 2, Bayonetta, Judas, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, Latest, News

Death Stranding 2, the follow up to the first game by Kojima Productions, has a new cinematic trailer. It ends with a list of the famous people who will be in it, including Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Shiola Kutsuna, and Troy Baker.

Hades 2, the follow up to the fantastic 2018 original by Supergiant Games, has been officially announced, and it will release on Early Access in 2023. The first game did this too, so it makes sense that the sequel has done the same.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, a prequel with a very different art style, was announced by Platinum Games, and it releases on 17 March 2023 for the Switch.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to 2019’s Star Wars: Fall Order, launches on 17 March 2023, and it continues the story of Cal Kestis.

Judas, the first game Ken Levine’s Ghost Story, has been announced with a brief trailer and it looks like BioShock, because of course it does.

Final Fantasy XVI, the latest entry in the acclaimed franchise, which continues the Final Fantasy XV tradition of a more action-oriented approach, will release on 22 June 2023.

Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, the sequel to 2014’s Valiant Hearts: The Great War, is coming to Netflix, and is probably one of the bigger games announced by Netflix thus far.

Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, a Hellboy roguelite game with an original story, is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and Switch. There is no release date yet.

Crime Boss: Rockay City releases on 28 March 2023, and it has a bunch of famous actors in it like Michael Madsen, Danny Trejo, Chuck Norris, and, for some reason, Vanilla Ice.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, the latest game from From Software, will release in 2023. However, the trailer did make it sound like it was a Dark Souls sequel. Very sneaky.

And here are some of the smaller announcements:

Vampire Survivors is coming to mobile.

• The Last of Us Part 1 is coming to PC on 3 March 2023. It certainly has taken a while for that to happen.

• Forspoken releases on 24 January 2023, but has a demo on PlayStation you can check out now.

Returnal is finally coming to PC, but the game still has a “coming soon” sticker on it instead of a release date.

• Atomic Hearts has a 21 February 2023 release date and is available for pre-order.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases on 26 May 2023.

Street Fighter 6 has an official release date of 2 June 2023

Immortals of Aveum is coming in 2023.

EarthBlade, the latest game from developers of Celeste, is coming in 2024.

Diablo IV will release on 6 June 2023.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will release on 19 April 2023.

Blue Protocol is coming in October 2023.

Warhammer: Space Marine II was announced for 2023.

Crash Team Rumble is coming in 2023.

The Game Awards is also, technically, an award ceremony, and while many of the smaller awards were breezed through rather quickly, God of War Ragnarök swept the award categories, with six wins, but it didn’t win Game of the Year. Elden Ring was the other big contender, but it only won four awards. However, one of those awards was for Game of the Year. In addition, Stray actually won two awards too.

And that was The Game Awards for 2022. What did you think of the winners? Did they deserve it?
