Elden Ring has been considered a modern classic ever since it released earlier this year, but the unending wait for some DLC seemed to last forever with no end in sight. This has finally come to an end as From Software has officially shown off the new DLC, and this DLC will be completely free for everyone who owns the game.
A short trailer for the Colosseum Update was uploaded to the Bandai Namco YouTube channel, and in it we were treated to the scant few pieces of information that have thus far been provided. This new DLC, aside from being entirely free, will also have a strong focus on PvP gameplay as it provides additional challenges and opportunities for those who want to spar against one another in the already classic title.
The description on the YouTube video reads: “Come forth, warriors, and bask in the glory of the Colosseums. The Colosseums of Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid will open their gates, allowing players to engage in battles such as duels, free-for-alls and team fights.”
This implies the addition of one-on-one duels for those who need some of the more purist Soulsbourne matches, free-for-alls in which everyone is up for grabs, and team fights that pit players with and against one another. This DLC is sure to breathe some additional life into Elden Ring now that The Game Awards are nearly upon us; an event that will likely see Elden Ring winning at least a few awards.
This DLC will release on 7 December 2022, and it will likely boost online players for a good few weeks or even months as the chance to murder other players is always a tantalizing prospect for the hardcore players who need their bloodlust to be satiated.
