The Elden Ring board game, very originally titled Elden Ring: The Board Game, officially announced on Kickstarter and was fully funded within minutes. However, the degree to which the game was funded is absolutely astounding as it crashed through its relatively low goal and has gone on to raise way more money than it will likely ever need.
Steamforged Games, the developers behind this boardgame version of the popular game, placed the game on Kickstarter, and it’s $178,000 goal was reached within minutes, but then the funding kept pouring in. At time of writing, the game has raised over $1.5 million from over 5000 backers and, seeing as it still has nine days to go, it isn’t inconceivable that it could raise even more cash before the full date is done.
The board game features a collection of detailed miniatures, a buildable overworld map complete with resources to find, diceless, card-driven combat that attempts to emulate the enemy AI from the games, and a cooperative exploration experience.
Steamforged Games are also an experienced tabletop developer, as they are the company responsible for Monster Hunter World: The Board Game and Dark Souls: The Board Game. So, if you’re concerned about how they will bring this already classic From Software game to your non-digital table, then you should rest assured that this company has the experience to make it happen.
