The Witcher 3 Hits Over 90,000 Concurrent Players After the Netflix Show Lands

The Witcher 3 video game sees a surge in popularity following the show's release

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is widely considered one of the best games this generation. Recently, the Netflix show released to mixed reception between fans and critics. With one critic, which we'll not name, skipping episodes of the show before writing their review. Fans, on the other hand, have been praising the show. As a fan of the games, I watched the show multiple times and can say its the best show I've seen all year. And it seems that the show's incredible reception from fans has boosted the game's notoriety. With the third game reaching a new peak in over 4 years on Steam alone.

The news broke by Marcin Momot of CD Projekt RED. With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt having a peak player count of 93,835 players as of December 29th. The new peak is at 94,601 as of December 30th. This is likely due to awareness of the series to those new to the Witcher series. I would recommend those people also check out the previous games as the third game hits harder after seeing how much Geralt has survived.

This will also likely translate to increase notoriety for CD Projekt RED's next project, Cyberpunk 2077 which launches on April 16th, 2020 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available for PC, Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.
