As we all know, Witcher, as a series, has been very popular on the roleplaying games market, thanks to its immaculate design. From visual presentation to crisp sound design, Witcher games always kept its depth and gave the best experience to the players. Same could be said for the voice actors, who gave their best performance by voicing iconic characters. While all of the people have been credited for being a good voice actor, biggest props go to the Geralt's voice actor Doug Cockle.
We are not sure what he has up to nowadays, since both CD Projekt Red and himself are silent about the upcoming title Witcher 4. Unfortunately, Cockle had to come forward with one of the problems while checking up on his health. He recently had a general check-up and was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While this sounds horrifying, he had an early diagnosis on the matter and now taking adequate treatment on the matter. On Twitter, Cockle said:
“Had no idea, random check and boom… I have full blown prostate cancer.”
What is surprising in this whole interaction is, Cockle saw a Twitter made by Prostate Cancer UK and decided to check whether he is affected as well. Fortunately he had a very early diagnosis and was able to act upon it right away. He strongly suggests men over 50 years of age should check for any sign of prostate cancer with a PSA test in order to make sure they are in good health.
While everything is in control, over Twitter fans had a bit of an anxious moment due to one of their favorite voice actor’s severe news. They have, however, said they fully support his statement and wish him the best on his wellness. We are hoping that he will get well soon and send love his way. Also, just like Doug Cockle or any reasonable being, we would like to suggest you to do a check up if you are a man over 50’s to see if you are also affected with prostate cancer. Early diagnoses can be a life changer and you might never now despite not showing any symptoms.
