Control is set to launch this August and today Remedy Entertainment confirmed that the game has gone gold.
It is done. New IP, new tech, new game structure, new direction, three platforms. And three years. What an achievement from the best dev team on the planet! @ControlRemedy pic.twitter.com/laFc0ocNvQ

Going gold means that production for the game has been completed and is ready for production. This doesn't mean that the game won't include a day-1 patch. A day-1 patch has become a standard within the AAA industry. With companies resolving bugs and issues discovered after the game's completion.
Control is set to release next month on August 27 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Perhaps Remedy's next big game will be Alan Wake as Sam Lake has expressed interest in continuing the series.
