Hopoo Games' rogue-like title Risk of Rain 2 is now available in Steam Early Access. Furthermore, the developer has partnered with Gearbox Publishing for its current project, announcement which was made during Gearbox Software's PAX East show earlier today.
Risk of Rain 2 retains the procedurally generated nature of its levels and its difficulty, while switching from the 2D pixel art of the original to a fully 3D style. Players can tackle its levels either solo or in seamless co-op with up to three others.
Risk of Rain 2 will feature both new and returning characters, called survivors, each with their own playstyles. 6 characters are available as of its Early Access launch, alongside 6 bosses and over 75 unlockable items.
Risk of Rain 2 is looking to spend the following 12 months in Early Access. Should you feel like hopping in now, the game is priced at $19.99 or your regional equivalent. Purchasing Risk of Rain 2 until March 30th at 12PM PT will nab you a free copy of the game to gift to a friend.
