Law Firm Investigating Bethesda Because of Fallout 76

Bethesda may be in legal trouble due to Fallout 76's technical issues and refund policy

Fallout 76 has been on the road to becoming 2018 worst game, both in terms of reviews and sales. Many gamers are livid by the product that a lot of them demanded refunds for the title because of its buggy and unfinished state. The law firm Migliaccio and Rathod LLP announced they wanted people to contact them if they had trouble securing a refund and the comments began flooding in.

Following the comments the law firm responded with:

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Bethesda Game Studios for releasing a heavily-glitched game, Fallout 76, and refusing to issue refunds for PC purchasers of the game who found it to be unplayable because of its technical problems. While minor bugs and glitches are expected with the release of most new games, Fallout 76 launched with a 56GB patch that has proven to be but a starting point for the game’s problems. Gamers who have tried to receive a refund because of the game’s myriad glitches have been unable to do so since they downloaded the game, leaving them to deal with an unplayable experience until patches bring it back to a playable state.

It's clear that the law firm has entered a rage-filled pool of vexed gamers who were sold an incomplete product and were unable to secure a refund since PC gamers could only purchase Fallout 76 through Bethesda's own launcher and not Steam. Steam allows users to refund games within a specific period if the player has played less than 2 hours of the game, and Microsoft has adopted a similar policy for digital products.

What has added fuel to the fire was when Bethesda reduced the price of the game within a week of its launch, and again to $35. Bethesda tried to appeal to those who purchased the game for $60 with in-game currency but fans were not pleased.

Fallout 76 is now available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
