Big Robot, makers of The Signal From Tölva and Sir, You Are Being Hunted, have unveiled their next game. The Light Keeps Us Safe is "a procedurally-generated apocalypse" in which players have to brave a desolate world while using stealth and evasion to avoid aggressive machines. The title starts from the premise of the sky suddenly going out, thus making players rely on various sources of Light in their attempt to survive nightmarish environments. The Light can be used for keeping foes at bay, unpicking their traps and overcoming various challenges.
The Light Keeps Us Safe will launch on October 11th on Steam Early Access, with the full version scheduled for a launch date around March 2019. According to the game's Steam page, the Early Access version will launch with “A large, fully-playable slice of the game, including the bunker (your large, explorable base) and early outside environments in which you can take on the machines. So basically a few hours of well-developed game, with more to come.”. Gameplay footage is said to come "quite soon".
