If you thought Microsoft buying Mojang was huge the company is rumored to pursuing new software for Xbox and PC. According to Polygon a report has been featured that has a lot of big publishers and studios, and EA is part of that list.

According to a reliable source, Polygon stated that Microsoft is looking into acquiring EA, to what degree is not clear. This could be a simple suggestion but remember that Microsoft purchased Minecraft developer Mojang for 2.5 billion, which proves they're willing to make the investment to expand their Xbox Division. However, 2.5 billion is nothing compared to what it would take to acquire EA.

EA does have plenty of exclusive IPs such as Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Crysis, and many iconic sports franchises. Gaining hold of those IPs and releasing them on Xbox One and Windows 10 would greatly encourage gamers to purchase an Xbox One.

The rumors imply that these are early acts and taking the time to build up to a deal would likely take months. Yet, Microsoft has shown they're dedicated to building the gaming division with the latest update to Xbox Game Pass and exclusive console rights to PUBG.
