Looks like players won't be able to explore the entire map of Mass Effect: Andromeda when it releases.
According to BioWare's Creative Director, Mac Walters, when asked the question on Twitter about how the lack of Mass Relays would effect travelling in Mass Effect: Andromeda Walters responded "That's a very wise assumption. Yes.". For those unaware of the Mass Relays these galactic items allowed travellers to quickly venture throughout the Milky Way Galaxy with ease, a process that would take hundreds of years without them.
Now this should be taken with a grain of salt as travelling within Mass Effect: Andromeda hasn't been fully revealed as of yet. Perhaps the galaxy has a different type of technology to travel to different parts of the galaxy. Maybe BioWare might decide to bring back "Dark Energy"?
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC in 2017.
