Mass Effect: Andromeda was announced 2 years ago and with only snippets of information to go by little has been said about the actual game's story. However in an interview with Official Xbox Magazine BioWare's creative director Mac Walters explained how Andromeda will push the Frostbite engine to its limits.

"We're pushing the boundaries of what Frostbite can do and what Mass Effect can do," explains Walters. "The quality of the character animations is at an all-time high for us, and that's great because it means expressiveness, emotion and a connection with the player."

Walters went on to explain that Earth was a huge inspiration when designing the alien worlds of Andromeda.

"We'll look at some images of a glowing cave somewhere in the world and be like, 'That exists? That's here on Earth?' and then we tweak it a little bit, and now it's alien, right?"

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release in 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
