During E3 2015 gamers got their first look at BioWare Montreal's Mass Effect Andromeda. This including a CG trailer featuring no gameplay but a first look at the new protagonist, who was overlooking a new world.
While details remains slim regarding this new installment fans have pressured BioWare for more information. Senior director, Chris Wynn, answered a fan's question over Twitter about seeing famailar faces in Andromeda. Stating that major characters won't be featured in Andromeda but still unwilling to answer if smaller characters would appear.
While it's still unclear how this game fits into the trilogy of Commander Shepard Wynn assures fans that while the characters are different the many races and character interactions will still be a major feature, also the Mako will return.
While one can assume that without familiar faces this timeline could be a prequel however it was already confirmed that Andromeda is part of Shepard's era. Perhaps the original crew has decided to retire from fighting? For now all we can do is speculate.
