Ground Zeroes Just €5 On Euro PSN Sale And More Recommendations

This PSN Sale is damn solid; something, something, Metal Gear Solid.

By Daavpuke, Posted 07 Jan 2015

You’d think that the sales period would stop as the new year chimes on in, but the Playstation Network (PSN) is having none of it. Right now, PSN in Europe has thrown up some more games at generous discounts for Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita. They’re not even the worst games out there, but a selection of some interesting titles. We’ll highlight some of the more interesting deals below. Click the titles to be taken to the store page directly:

Let's open up this pit.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes - €9.99/4.99

With a version now available on Steam, the digital value of this title will likely soon decrease considerably, as has Revengeance before that. Once criticized for being extremely costly for a short experience, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is currently on PS4 for a more sensible €9.99 or even €8.99 for Playstation Plus members. On PS3, however, the “glorified demo” ticks to just €4.99. If that’s not enough to wet your whistle before the arrival of The Phantom Pain, then you’re probably not that into the series at all.

Styx: Master of Shadows - €12.99

Assassin’s Creed’s goblin rendition from Cyanide Studio and Focus Home Interactive didn’t receive a lot of eyes during its unfortunate October release. For just €12.99, it’s still recent enough to dive into this fantasy keep and try to sneak through tons of enemies and obstacles, shuffling along beams and resorting to dark magic whenever necessary. It’s possible to puke out other goblins. Isn’t that just classy?

The Golf Club - €14.99

We were really impressed with The Golf Club when we previewed the sports simulation game. It has all the charm of a solid golf game, without having to limit anything due to licenses. It also comes with an easy level editor for endless content.

Tales of Graces f + Tales of Xillia (Combo Pack) - €14.99

If you’re shopping for just one thing that will consume your time for weeks, then look no further than the combo of two great “Tales of” games on PS3. Don’t let the anime style fool you into thinking this is some slow, crawling franchise either. Some great customizable combat in real time keeps things going, while unparalleled banter will have you yearning for more. These are also available separately. Tales of Xillia is one of the better roleplaying games (RPG) we reviewed in recent years.

Word of warning: Big 13Gb download file might keep you busy for a while.

Earth Defense Force 2025 - €9.99

It’s EDF; there’s not much more to say. An elite team runs through cityscapes to blast gigantic insects and other weird monsters that are terrorizing the city. It’s over the top, filled with explosive action and has tons of unlock potential. You likely missed out on this PS3 gem last year.

Bayonetta - €3.99

Obviously get that one too.

Vanquish - €3.99

You always hear talking about Vanquish, but did you actually play it? Take the same unique mentality that developer Platinum Games applied to Bayonetta, now mold that in a shooter. You like shooters, don’t you? It also won a bunch of awards, if you need more than our word. It’s only a few bucks right now; ideal time to finally give it a spin.

Warning again: Almost 12Gb to download.

A full list can be found here. It also has games like Assassin’s Creed Unity, but maybe don’t take that one.
