Developer Switchblade Monkeys, a totally rad name to call a studio, announced that they’re rewarding early adopters of Secret Ponchos with an extra Steam key to gift to someone. Those who own the multiplayer shooter or purchase before August 5, 2014 will receive a complimentary copy in their inventory.
Currently, Secret Ponchos is on Steam through Early Access. It’s planning on releasing its first major update based on community feedback. Some of the things still coming up in its development plan are an additional map, a new Matador character, custom games and deathmatches.
Secret Ponchos is a third-person shooter set in a western environment. Players can take cover behind items in the environment to elude their enemies, before cracking the whip down. There are already four different character classes available: Killer, Kid red, The Deserter and Phantom Poncho. Action takes place in three distinct locations, being a saloon, a train wreck and a graveyard.
Aside from an Early Access release, Secret Ponchos is planning to bring its competitive game to Playstation 4 this fall. It’s one in many indie titles that were originally announced for Sony’s current console of choice. That courtesy does not extend to Xbox One, though you have your own set of titles there now as well.
Secret Ponchos is currently $14.99 or an unequal €14.99, if you’re unlucky enough to be European. At least with a free copy, you’re not out that much more anymore, so win-win, right?
