It's been a little too quiet when it comes to the Silent Hill 2 Remake, the announcement was made, fans cheered and then nothing else. Well, fans will be glad to know that some recent changes have been made to Konami and Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 Remake's Steam page, which most likely means we should probably get ready to hear some news about the game… Hopefully soon.
Silent Hill 2 is probably one of the most iconic horror games of all time, and has become a hallmark of horror gaming that is still loved and feared by fans to this day. Despite how loved the title was, many believed that it was unlikely we would not see anything about the game, considering what happened between Konami and the ‘P.T’ project. That was until the remake was announced in 2022. Since then, rumors have run amok, with fans trying to get as many answers as possible. This got to the point where fans even attempted to ask one of the game's voice actors when the remake would be released.
>However, it would seem we will finally get some answers to these questions as the game has received a new update to its Steam page, which could mean that Blooper Team might have something to announce soon. This was seen on SteamDB, which documents the changes made to game pages on Steam. These changes were made on 6 October 2023, and have changed the game's categories by adding Steam achievements to the tag list. Konami and Blooper Team updating the achievement tag could mean that the game is near completion, this does make sense as Blooper team back in March 2023, did confirm that the game was close to being finished.
Another change to note involved changing the copyright information from " Konami Digital Entertainment" to simply just "KONAMI", another odd change was removing the support for the Portuguese language to add Ukrainian and Brazilian language support. The Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of the four announced Silent Hill projects in the works, which also include Silent Hill f, Silent Hill Townfall and Silent Hill: Ascension, which recently got a release date. With the 1-Year Anniversary of last year's Silent Hill Transmission livestream right around the corner, fans should stay tuned as it is very possible that we will be getting some more news surrounding the horror franchise
