Iconic survival horror franchise Silent Hill will finally be making a return, eight years after PT and Konami's infamous falling out with video game auteur Hideo Kojima. On October 19th Konami held a Silent Hill Transmission to update fans on the state of the long-dormant franchise.

The show began with a teaser trailer for Bloober Team's PlayStation 5 exclusive Silent Hill 2 remake. Bloober Team has plenty of genre experience having created titles including Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, and The Medium; and are a great choice of studio to remake Konami's classic. On the topic of Silent Hill 2, it was announced that a film adaptation of James Sunderland's story called Return to Silent Hill was also in development. It is being produced by Victor Hadida and directed by Christophe Gans, both of whom worked on the 2006 Silent Hill film starring Sean Bean.

Game publisher Annapurna Interactive is working with Scottish developers No Code Games (Observer, Stories Untold) on a game called Silent Hill: Townfall, but nothing beyond a vague teaser trailer was revealed. Similarly, Genvid, Bad Robot Games, and DJ2 Entertainment are collaborating with Dead By Daylight developers Behaviour Interactive on a "live, real-time interactive series" called Silent Hill: Ascension. It looks like Ascension is targeting live streamers and their audiences and is offering them the chance to make decisions that will become canon within the Silent Hill universe.

Finally, the show closed with the announcement of Silent Hill f. The story is written by the author of the When They Cry visual novel series Ryukishi07 and is being developed by Taiwanese developers Neobards Entertainment. Again, not much is known about the game as it is in very early development, but Silent Hill: appears to be set in 1960s Japan.
