With the release date for the highly anticipated RPG Final Fantasy XVI inching closer and closer, fans may finally get a taste of what's to come in the long-awaited next entry in the Final Fantasy franchise. Square Enix has revealed that the demo for Final Fantasy XVI will go live on 12 June 2023 and will launch during a celebration stream, which will also go into detail about everything that players will get to experience in the demo.
It is no secret that Final Fantasy XVI is arguably the most anticipated game to be released this year, even more so for the game's developer Square Enix. In Final Fantasy XVI, we will play as Clive Rosfield as he seeks revenge for the destruction of his home kingdom, during his story, we will get to see three different stages of his life from his teens all through his adulthood.
The game promises a wide and complex story with rich lore such as the Eikons which are powerful beings that players will get to control. It would seem that PlayStation 5 players will soon be able to get their hands on the demo and get a first look at the game
The demo for Final Fantasy XVI will release on Monday, 12 June 2023 and will go live at 1:00 AM PT/4:00 AM ET, and will also be a free download on the PS5. While the demo is set to release, some information as to what is in the demo has leaked online. However, despite the game's director Naoki Yoshida previously stating that he would like the demo to release closer to the launch of the full version Final Fantasy XVI, as to avoid the hype for it getting stale too quickly, it would seem we are getting it early.
Naoki Yoshida also went into detail about what to expect in the demo, which will contain over 2 hours’ worth of gameplay, which includes some lengthy cutscenes that establish some major details for the game's story and setting. Yoshida also said that if players were successfully able to complete the demo, they would also be able to access a special battle segment from the demo's title screen.
Well, the demo being only two hours long may not seem like much, this is only a taste of what players can expect from the full game when Final Fantasy XVI launches on 22 June 2023.
