Konami has announced a new remaster, or rather remake, of the ever-favorite Metal Gear game: Snake Eater. The game in Konami's focus is Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, but for our surprise there will be other games included as well. This includes the first ever two games released by Hideo Kojima, a previous important figure in Konami’s team. After the deportation of Kojima and birth of Kojima Productions, the whole series was dumped onto Konami’s hands and sadly they couldn’t keep a good reputation for Metal Gear. However this time, they just have to follow the steps of Kojima, which should be easy enough.
In the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater title, we can see a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and as well as the addition of earlier titles from late 80, when Kojima mostly worked on MSX systems. Games will include: Metal Gear from Nintendo Entertainment System and Sony MSX, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake from Sony MSX2, Metal Gear Solid (with extra missions included) from classic Playstation and so forth. Weirdly enough the NES exclusive “Snake’s Revenge” is missing from the compilation due Kojima’s remarks on how it was his worst project as well as the backlash and low review scores it got.
So far Konami stated that they will be staying loyal to the series and keep the integrity in-tact, without changing the characters and its ever-so-important lore. Despite all the claims and important news, we still do not know which sort of a product Konami will deliver, because we had the fiasco of Metal Gear: Survive after Hideo’s resignation.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. Unfortunately, the release date hasn’t been revealed so it's still a mystery when Metal Gear Solid Delta will be available for players.
