The upcoming next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have a wide variety of technological, graphical, and performance improvements over the original, all tailored to the capabilities of current-gen consoles and PC technology. Among the numerous enhancements are ray tracing compatibility, improved console loading speeds, and the ability to seamlessly include user-created content in the form of modifications. Next week, the studio will host a special REDstreams event on Twitch. They will show off gameplay from the next-gen version of the game along with fresh supplementary material influenced by Netflix's The Witcher series.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition, which will be available digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, will include all of the free downloadable content for the game up to this point, as well as the two paid expansion packs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Plus, all owners of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions will get a free next-gen upgrade at some point in the future. After the first digital release, a physical version will be produced; the exact date will be disclosed later.
In addition to the release for next-generation consoles, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will also be updated for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms. This update will include some new features and enhancements and extra material based on the Witcher franchise that can be found on Netflix.
