Not content with Konami and Silent Hill having the survival horror spotlight, Capcom hosted its own show. The Resident Evil Showcase provided information on the upcoming Resident Evil Village expansion, the new multiplayer title RE: Verse, and exciting new footage of the Resident Evil 4 Remake footage.

Resident Evil: Village's Winters' Expansion will conclude the Winters family's story and this current Resident Evil chapter. It features a 3rd-person perspective for Resident Evil Village; the addition of Lady Dimitrescu and Heisenberg as playable characters in the Mercenaries mode; and a new story expansion called Shadows of Rose. Set 16 years after the events of Village, Shadows of Rose follows a now teenage Rose Winter trying to get rid of the powers forced on her by her connection to the Megamycete fungus. Still haunted by her father's death, Rose enters a living nightmare and travels to the village where her story began via the Realm of Consciousness.

RE: Verse is an upcoming multiplayer title (free with any purchase of Village) in which players take control of, and battle it out as, iconic heroes and villains of the franchise including Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, the Nemesis, and Jack Baker.

Back to Resident Evil: Village and the latest installment in the long-running survival horror franchise will be released on Mac and Switch via Cloud streaming on 28th October, with the Winters' Expansion arriving on 22nd December. Three more Resident Evil games are also coming to Nintendo Switch: Resident Evil 2 Remake (on 11th November), Resident Evil 3 Remake (on 18th November), and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (on 16th December).

Finally, there was plenty of new footage showing off the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake. The game looks very scary and the environments are chilling but, thankfully, Leon can still dive through windows and roundhouse-kick old ladies. Resident Evil 4's villager enemies have a variety of new attacks, but luckily Leon can now parry with his knife and even block chainsaw attacks with only the barrel of his pistol! The showcase ended with a new trailer for the game featuring the first looks at Ashley, Luis, Ada, and plenty of Resident Evil 4's monstrous enemies.

Preorders are now open for Resident Evil 4 Remake's various editions. The Deluxe Edition contains the game; four alternate costumes for Leon (and two for Ashley), two of which can add filters to the game; two weapons; extra collectible treasures and a treasure map to find them; sporty sunglasses for Leon; and the original Resident Evil 4's soundtrack. Meanwhile, within the physical-only Collector's Edition fans can get their hands on the Resident Evil 4 Remake game and steelbook; the contents of the Deluxe Edition; a digital soundtrack; artbook; poster of a map; collector's box; and a Leon S. Kennedy figurine.

Resident Evil 4 releases on March 24th, 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
