FINAL FANTASY XVI for PlayStation 5 will be published worldwide in the summer of 2023, SQUARE ENIX said today. With this announcement came a new video for the game, called "Dominance," words from the game's director and co-producer, new facts on the game's cast, and new environments and scenery screenshots.
As FINAL FANTASY XVI Producer, Naoki Yoshida put it, "The new teaser provides players a greater image of what really gaming will be like. When it comes to high-octane combat, Clive Rosfield brandishing a complete array of strikes specific to the game's several Eikons (summons). Epic battles amongst the Eikons aren't the only thing to look forward to."
New Eikons have been shown off, as has the action-packed fighting system and the flexibility it affords players, according to FINAL FANTASY XVI director Hiroshi Takai. Finally, I'm pleased to report that the game is entirely playable from beginning to end. However, we're currently tackling optimization and brush-up issues as we move into our last push." Key development employees, including veterans from FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, DEVIL MAY CRY 5, THE LAST REMNANT, and more, we're also revealed by Square Enix. The following members of the team have shown their abilities:
- Naoki Yoshida is the producer (FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, DRAGON QUEST X, DRAGON QUEST: Monster Battle Road)
- Hiroshi Takai is the main director (FINAL FANTASY V, SaGa Frontier, THE LAST REMNANT)
- Kazutoyo Maehiro was the creative director and wrote the original script (FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, FINAL FANTASY XII, THE LAST REMNANT)
- Michael-Christopher Koji Fox is in charge of localization. (FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, FINAL FANTASY XI Online, FINAL FANTASY VII Dirge of Cerberus)
- Hiroshi Minagawa was the art director. (FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, FINAL FANTASY XII, FINAL FANTASY TACTICS)
- Ryota Suzuki was the combat director for Devil May Cry 5, Dragon's Dogma, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2, all of which were made by CAPCOM.
- Character Design - Kazuya Takahashi (FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, FINAL FANTASY XI Online, FINAL FANTASY X)
- Masayoshi Soken is the composer for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, the Nanashi no Game series, and Mario Hoops 3-on-3, all of which are games made by Nintendo.

This standalone single-player action FINAL FANTASY XVI will be released on the PlayStation 5 console and it has not yet been rated.
