Motive, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc., today announced that Dead Space will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on January 27, 2023. The Frostbite game engine is being used to rebuild the iconic sci-fi survival horror game Dead Space. Enhanced audio and frightening images have been thoroughly rebuilt for a new degree of intensity and excellence in the remake of the original game.
This was a lot of fun for us at Motive since we're huge fans of the series and want to treat it as such in the remake." Dead Space's Senior Producer, Phillippe Ducharme, remarked, "It's been equally fascinating to observe gamers' emotions as we're bringing them on this development trip with us." There has been a lot of work made on the path to alpha and we're pleased to report that the game will be released in January 2017. In the remake, we've improved on the original experience to make it as effective for the current generation as possible.
The USG Ishimura, a massive mining spacecraft, requires normal maintenance, and that's exactly what Isaac Clarke, a common engineer, is tasked with doing. As if it wasn't enough, the Ishimura holds a living hell. Isaac's girlfriend, Nicole, has gone missing after the ship's crew was killed and infected. To survive, Isaac must fight both scary Necromorphs and his deteriorating mental health. He has only his technical equipment and abilities to rely on.
The Motive team also showed off an early look at how the remake graphically grows and upgrades the original with in-game items, tools, environments, and more being rebuilt to a degree of refinement and intricacies suited for the next generation of hardware and PCs, which were unveiled during the Dead Space Livestream. Furthermore, Dead Space's full-HDR atmospheric and ambient VFX and dynamic, volumetric lighting give players an unmatched degree of realism in the spooky halls and gloomy passageways of the USG Ishimura.
