Those hoping to dive into the world of Control on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S will have to wait. Remedy Entertainment confirmed the game has been delayed to 2021.
An update from the development team: Control Ultimate Edition will arrive on next generation platforms early 2021.

We want the final quality of the game to be awesome, and so we need a bit more time to work on it. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
The delay is due to quality assurance and no exact date has been provided.
Control on the next-generation has been surrounded by controversy. With gamers only able to get a free upgrade for the Ultimate Edition of the game but then gamers were able to download the Ultimate Edition despite these claims. No word if this delay will change the next-gen upgrade or not.
Control is now available for PS4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One.
