Marvel's Avengers PS5 And Xbox Series X Delayed To 2021

Marvel's Avengers delayed on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

By Grayshadow, Posted 16 Oct 2020

Marvel's Avengers has had a rough post-launch period. The game suffers from a lot of issues and while patches have resolved many of the network and balancing problems the player base has significantly dropped. This mostly due to lackluster content and unappealing loot. WIth heavy competitors within the live service market, those key aspects are paramount to a game's survival. Well, more bad news for Marvel's Avengers as the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions have been delayed to 2021.

Marvel's Avengers,NoobFeed,Square Enix,

Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix revealed the news today:

We’ve also made the decision to shift our PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launch to next year to ensure that we give our team the time to deliver a next-gen experience showcasing all that this game is meant to be. More details to come.

The post did reveal an appreciation bundle for the player base for sticking around:

As a sign of our appreciation for being with us from the start of this journey - beginning at 10:00 AM PDT October 22, players will receive a digital thank-you bundle, which includes:

Credits: 1500 – Enough for a Legendary Skin and Nameplate from the Marketplace

Units: 7000

Upgrade Modules: 250

DNA Keys: 20

A Sarah Garza-Inspired Nameplate (Because seriously, you’re the best.)

As for the future of the game there was a list of new features coming to the game. Along with performance and stability patches.

Avengers Initiative Ping System: A system that will allow players to mark objectives, resources, health crates, and enemies, allowing players to command AI companions to hack/smash doors or prioritize specific enemies.

Reassemble Campaign Replay: An option to reset the Reassemble campaign and replay it with your Super Hero’s level and gear intact.

High Contrast Mode: An accessibility feature that will allow the player to apply solid darken veils behind text to improve readability.

Hero Icon Visibility: An option to adjust the display of identifying icons above a Super Hero's head to be on by default or dynamic.

Mission Reward Clarity: Improved clarity around mission-specific rewards when viewed on the WAR TABLE. This will allow players to more strategically take on missions to meet their current goals and seek out specific gear and resources.

Offscreen & Ranged Enemy Attack Indicators: Better feedback for players to avoid offscreen and ranged enemy attacks.

As of now, Marvel's Avengers is struggling to keep afloat as they compete with other live services such as Destiny 2, Fall Guys, Fortnite, PUBG, and many more. Hell, Fallout 76 has a better player count in the last 24 hours. With a recently launched title the developers really need something appealing to recover those numbers because once November hits many gamers will have other titles to dive into such as Spider-Man Miles Morales, Demon Souls Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, and more.

Marvel's Avengers is now available for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Stadia.
