There have been no shortages of charities being propped up by multiple industries, in regards with the pandemic, as well as global unrest. To offset some of the usual avenues that are drawing attention, Children of Morta launched downloadable content (DLC) that will benefit Humane Society International, a charity to help animals in need. Some of the organization's recent efforts go towards fighting against trophy hunting, preserving the elephant population or even bringing awareness to mink farm contributions to the Coronavirus.

The DLC in question is called Paws and Claws and comes with some extra content, for the €3.99 price tag. In the house hub, players will find a new section that is dedicated as an animal shelter. Here, multiple species will visit, ranging from mammals to birds. Caring for the animals or feeding them can give players a boon for their upcoming run, such as increased experience or added movement speed.

Together with the DLC, Children of Morta has a free update that adds a bit more content, such as graces, relics and consumables.

Animals are often forgotten in times of crisis, but they are victims of tragedy all the same. At the start of the year, the devastating fires in Australia cost the lives of over a billion animals, gutting the ecosystem as we knew it. The Paws and Claws DLC will have 100% of its proceeds go to Humane Society International. Currently, the game is on sale on PC via Steam, where it has a 40% discount. Additionally, Children of Morta is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
