Animal Crossing: New Horizons Summer Update Announced

Players will be able to explore the areas around their islands in a new way.

Nintendo has revealed the content coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the game’s first Summer Update. This update, coming July 3rd, is the most substantial since the April update which introduced bushes and saw the return of Redd as a black market art seller.

The update, which is the first of two major Summer Updates, will bring in new features such as Swimming. Players will be able to jump into the waters surrounding their islands and pick up a swath of new sea life, all of which can be donated to the Museum.

Players will also be able to collect and craft new Mermaid themed furniture, and fan-favorite shipwrecked sailor Gulliver will be getting a new look as a pirate, along with a special reward for players who help him.

This is expected to be the first of two major Summer Updates, as a second update was announced with an expected arrival date of early August.
