During Bungie’s Destiny 2 reveal stream today, fans got a sneak peak at not one, but three of Destiny 2’s upcoming expansions. Players were introduced to Destiny 2: Beyond Light, which has players teaming up with Eris Morn, the Drifter, and Elsie Bray the Exo Stranger to defeat the Fallen leader Eramis on Europa. They also unveiled Destiny 2: Witch Queen and Destiny 2: Lightfall, the 2021 and 2022 Fall Expansions.
No real content was provided for Witch Queen or Lightfall, but the ideas behind both seem fairly straight forward. Witch Queen is the title given to Savathun, the current leader of the Hive and sister of Oryx, the Taken King, who was killed in the Destiny expansion The Taken King. Lightfall, which is a working title, has the potential to be the finale of Destiny, likely featuring the full force of the Darkness’s Pyramid Ships attacking the Sol System.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches on September 22nd, 2020, while Witch Queen and Lightfall have tentative release windows of 2021 and 2022.
