Lord of the Rings: Gollum was confirmed back in January and would star Gollum of all people. While an iconic character within the franchise having him star as the playable character is strange. However, new images have been released by the website Gamestar.
The images are mostly focused on Mordor with 1 image outside the desolated land. The character models are a bit poor so these are likely early development footage. We also get a glimpse at the split personality touched on by the game's developers. With Gollum having 2 sets of options, with red likely indicating Smeagol and green symbolizing Gollum.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum will have players exploring the split personality of the deformed human. With both Gollum and Smeagol fighting for dominance and the player exposed to both. Daedalic Entertainment who is developing the project stated that the game will feature multiple characters leading to a final decision for the player to make.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum is in development for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
