By Grayshadow, Posted 09 Nov 2015

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 brings nine specialist classes to master. However despite all the advances Treyarch has made staples such as one-hit instant kills and spawn camping adheres to classic Call of Duty competitive fields. New additions such as wall-running and the ability to from any angle keeps things dynamic, but also adds new tensions. To help players become accustomed to the new multiplayer system of Black Ops III we’ve constructed a myriad of helpful tips that’ll aid you on the battlefield.

Understand the Environment

Mobility is key to victory in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. New advancements such as the exo-suit makes traveling throughout the terrain easier without having to input a button to climb ledges or mount over objects. The ability to shoot from any angle means that battles can start from anywhere. Be alert of not only your HUD but the minimap.

Exo-suits provide players the ability to thrust, whether bursting forward, back or double-jumping. With this new extra boost Black Ops III’s 11 maps are designed to take advantage of this verticality. Incorporating wall-running to thrusting not only allows you to reach new height quicker but is critical in evading enemy fire and flanking. We already mentioned you can shoot from any angle, which can prove useful in surprise attacks especially when wall-running leaping into the air.

Lastly you should get attuned to sliding. Many forget about this, focusing more on wall-running and dashing. However not only can it prove useful in quickly gaining the upper-hand, by making you a harder target, but getting away from hectic situations.

Maxmizing the use of all your mobility skills is just as important as percise aiming. The faster you are the harder it is for enemies to shoot you. This is especially invaluable during objective based matches where mobility trumps kill count.

Become accustomed to Each Specialist

You won’t be in control of ordinary soldiers in Black Ops III, instead you can choose from 9 Specialist. Each one has their own offensive and defensive variant that features a unique set of weapons and abilities. From first-line infantry material to quiet and stealthy options, you’ll find at least one that fits your style of playing. Experiment is key, not only for finding your ideal loadout but understanding how each Specialist plays.

During competitive matches you’re face against a multitude of enemy teams. Knowing how each Specialist acts will ensure that you can better prepare yourself when a specific ability is active. Knowing if Spectre has cloaking on or if Firebreak use used Heatwave could be life or death. Know your enemy and you’ll be better prepared for the challenges ahead.

Choose Scorestreaks Wisely

Scorestreaks are rewarded to players who contribute to their team. Choosing the most effective reward can provide invaluable in matches. While high scorestreak rewards are alluring don’t overestimate yourself. Lower tier scorestreaks are just as useful and not only support your team but bolster morale.

If you find yourself having trouble earning scorestreak points try the Seraph Specialist and choose the Combat Focus ability. This Specialist enables a bonus score multiplier, granting easy access to scorestreak points. If you love to gamble opt for the Care Package reward, this is not only an easy scorestreak but randomly gives you a reward from the pool. Caution though, other players can pick it up as well.

Unlock Tokens are Important

If you want new weapons, equipment, perks, scorestreaks and Specialist variants you’re going to need Unlock Tokens. These are given to players for reaching a new level each time.

It’s tempting to go on a spending spree but poorly investing Tokens in new unlocks can leave you stuck with perks or items you don’t prefer. Instead find a weapon you enjoy, invest tokens into it to unlock attachments. Once modified with a reliable weapon you can always fall on it if the next weapon you unlock proves to handle poorly.

Hopefully this tips will aid you in the coming battles. Now go soldier, you’re ready for combat.
