Brutal Legend

By goliath, Posted 20 Oct 2009

so lets start this with charicters will make sense. So first we have Eddie Riggs who you play as and he is also the greatest roadie alive and becomes the leader of Ironheade. Next is Lars Halford who is the origonal leader of Ironheade and is inspiring to all around him but he seems to be a bit insucure about his appearence. Lita Halford is lars' little sister who is a supporter of ironheade. Ophelia is the firt charicter you meet and is also devout to the ironheade cause. Now lets add a touch of evil! ha pun! Anyways i can only tell you about 2 and the first is General Lionwhite the leader of the hairmetal faction and a oppresser on the humans and keeps them as slaves for profit. The other one is Emperor Deviculous the deamon king who is your true oppresser and is the ringleader of this circus act. There is also 2 more but they are neutral charicters i would say. Ormagodan the fire beast. The eppitamy of metal with if steel flesh, is deffining death roar and his flaming body. He was killed by the hiddeous first ones and in his death he embeded metal into the world with his flesh music and fire. and then the titas came. An ancient race that used Ormagodans remains to make heavey metal and cars and so on. Ok so the last charicter is the gaurdian of metal who is played by ozzy and he is the person you go to for upgrades.

Ok so now for the story.

You are Eddie Riggs the best roadie in the biz and you are responsible for a punk band who thinks there heavy metal and to make it a long story short there is a huge stage accident and blood drips into Eddies belt buckle and little does he know it is a totem of ORMAGODAN THE FIRE BEAST!!!! This awakens him and his metal epicness who transports you to this totally metal world where you start at the temple of Ormagodan and there you find druids that you must kill but this is also where you find a powerfull axe called the seperator and you also get you guitar, Clemintine which has been amplified to electricute and light people on fire. So you meet ophelia in the temple which is where you also buil Deuce or the druid plow which is a totally awsome hot rod. Then after you escape the temple Ophelia takes you to Lars and you talk with him about how you came to this crazy world and he emplores you to fight with him to free his people and you have no choice but to do so. So as you go along you aquire troops to join your cause. Soon you have a diverse army full of troops with awsome power. And with that you set forth to crush Lionwhite and Deviculous.

Now my personal thoughts on the game. I thought the story was good. There was always somthing going on but the game was too short and you could beat it in hours. There are many secondary quests though and from thos you earn fire tributes which can be used at  the motor forge where you can upgrade your weapons, Deuce and all sorts of stuff. I Really liked the scenerie of the game with totaly epic things everywhere like chrome volcanoes, Veins with devil horns on them, stone guitars coming from the ground and even strees made of scaffolding. Tim Schafer did a pretty good job at this game and i was not dissapointed with the metal aspects. When you got your sterio in your car it was awsome because the have some pretty awsome bands like Judas Priest, Def Leapord, Motly crue, and so on and so forth. It was really cool how they got actual legends to star in the game like Lita Ford, Rob Halford, JACK BLACK WHO IS EDDIE RIGGS!! Lemmy kilmister, and Ozzy. Well enough about that now to actuall gameplay. Like in the tital... BRUTAL you can turn off the gore though but there is lots of gore and cutting people in half and lots  of swearing which is also optional. Sorry Gmeplay seriously I really liked the whole stage battle thing where you build troops and command them  but you can still help fight. When your in the free world it is fun because you can roam around killing stuff wile listening to painkiller and other good songs. And last but not least they did the thing that keeps people in ti.. added an rpg aspect where you can spend your fire tributes at the motor forge and get upgrades from the gaurdian of metal which i thought was good because deuce is so important he neddt weapons and a cool paint job too. I know there is more i just can't remember anyways hopefully i can edit it in!

Thst ends it... If you have anymore questions message me.. goliath

  • I remember reading a preview of this game long ago but never paid any attention to the game. It sure sounds like a good game to me now.
