The ocean is a beautiful place full of life but at the same time houses unidentified horrors. With only 5% of the Earth's oceans explored and charted many speculate what lies in the unexplored. Silt seeks to capitalize on the fear of the enigma by providing an unnerving horror adventure as you explore mysteries in a surreal oceanic void.

Silt,NoobFeed,

The demo opens with a short summary about Goliaths and obtaining their power by removing the eyes of the creatures and a strange machine. Chained to a device you take control of a diver who can possess aquatic creatures to solve puzzles and navigate this oceanic area. You're frail and must take every advantage you can but the game plays with your expectations with its outstanding visual design.

The mix of organic and machine creates this surreal environment as you journey forward. Constantly curious about what could be in the next area you'll eventually find out that the diver is more than they appear. Even with the possession ability raising red flags the game surprises towards the end leaving you wondering how this journey can end.

Silt,NoobFeed,

The gameplay is centered on puzzles and possession. Using the various aquatic creatures you take hold of them and use their unique talents to break rocks or cut chords. Not everything is hostile but some will attack you on sight and it only takes 1 hit to die. This means not only letting the possession go to progress forward but placing them in the right place as to not attack the diver afterward.

Controls are simple with the ability to swim faster and possessing is easy enough. Just line up the energy that comes from the diver and release the action button to take control. There must be a direct line of sight and the final puzzle highlights this by providing a multi-layer puzzle that has you attempting to weaken a giant eel.

Silt,NoobFeed,

Silt captures that same sensation many felt when playing through Subnautica for the first time. Hearing unknown noises, traveling through isolated waters, and coming face to face with something terrifying. The terrific art style and fantastic sound effects sell the entire experience right until the end when more questions than answers rise up. If you love horror Silt needs to be on your Steam wishlist right now.
