Devil May Cry 5 provides an outstanding action-adventure full of brilliant enemies and deadly weapons to use

Since the launch of Devil May Cry 4, fans have been demanding  Devil May Cry 5.  Now that the game is months away we finally got to try out the new adventure for ourselves and it was well worth the wait. The more realistic movement is different from other Devil May Cry games but the high-intense action and over the world insanity is still here in full force.

The demo only provided a look into Nero. Unlike Devil May Cry 4  Nero does not have access to his Devil Bringer since it was chopped off. Now he has a Devil Breaker, a mechanical arm with multiple forms. Each form has a different function such as pulling enemies towards Nero, a close-range electrical blast, and a rocket-propelled option. Nero cannot interchange between them and can only use one, some options requiring ammo. This allows the player to determine what option works best.

Other than the Devil Breaker Nero maintains his signature combat style. The Red Queen can still be charged, either manually or quickly by pressing the charged button before attacking, and his Blue Rose fires powerful rounds. Combining his various moves earns Nero style points and his performance is categorized during the end of each stage, just like past Devil May Cry games.

What has changed dramatically is the movement. Unlike the other Devil May Cry games, movement feels more realistic with Nero running at an even pace, dragging his sword when in combat, and slicing at a slower rate than in Devil May Cry 4.

In terms of personality, Nero is much more like Dante. He's cocky and takes in a hubris tone, unlike his previous adventure where the devil slayer was much more serious and direct. It's refreshing from his older persona but a bit off considering that he's now acting like Dante.

Exploration operated similarly to the past games. Nero would travel to different sections of the environment, collect Red Orbs (currency within the game), and solve basic puzzles such as locating an item to unlock a new path. The demo ended with a multi-tier boss called the Goliath, an incredibly detailed demonic boss that requires Nero to use all his skills to defeat.

Devil May Cry 5 feels both familiar and new. The movement system offers a more realistic feel to combat but doesn't overshadow the classic gameplay that made this franchise such as hit. Players will have to utilize all their skills and talents for that highly sought after S rank and the deadly enemies that saturate this world will do anything to prevent that.

Devil May Cry 5 launches on March 8th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
