The first footage for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale mode has been published. With user Chaos providing new information about the mode and that it'll be a separate mode available for free to everyone even those without Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
First off, Warzone is available to everyone. You don't need Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to play the mode. Those with the game will have access to all their cosmetics though. Cross-platform play was also confirmed by Chaos regardless if you own a copy of the game or play the free-to-play mode.
According to Chaos, everything has been custom made for this map with featured maps from Call of Duty games also included. With 150 players dropping onto the map and players able to play alone, in duos, or with 2 allies. Players must locate items, each with rarity tiers, as the battlefield reduces in size along with armor plates instead of just body armor. With players starting with a pistol instead of nothing. Players can purchase killstreaks and respawn tokens by earning money. Money is earned by killing, completing challenges, and finding it on the field.
Players who die will go into the Gulag. You will 1v1 a player but this will be done in matches. Whoever isn't in a match is spectating until their turn comes up. Players on the spectator level can throw rocks to the players fighting to stun them. There are several versions of the Gulag and those who win respawn back into the map. This apparently will only occur once and during certain times during a match.
Vehicles are in the game just like in Blackout. Players who are knocked down can be revived.
A ping system has been implemented, thanks Respawn for this amazing system.
Chaos said that he'll talk about another mode called Plunder tomorrow.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
