ESA Says that Earning Trust Back is the “Top Priority”

As E3 2020 registration nears the ESA provides a new message about privacy

Back in 2019, the ESA had a security issue that allowed access to attendee information. Revealing location and personal information for journalists and influencers who attended the event. It wasn't hacked but the information was provided on a spreadsheet that anyone could download. This was massive and today the ESA provided a message to everyone about earning everyone's trust.

Over on the ESA’s official website, it was outlined what E3 2020 is planned to look like come June.

#E32020 is in 131 days, and it’s going to be incredible! We’ve partnered with @iam8bit and others to ensure a floor experience like nothing you've seen. We’ve also taken steps to earn back your trust. Read the details…Registration starts in 2 weeks! https://t.co/RTNtUOE0fr pic.twitter.com/IFSqU1pieZ

E3 2020,NoobFeed,

“We’ve listened to the feedback of our media partners, attendees and the industry at large. We are committed to keeping E3 at the level you’ve come to expect,” said the ESA in a blog post. “You’ll be happy to know that we’re not producing E3 2020 in a vacuum. For E3 2020, we’re collaborating with industry insiders and new creative partners, including the tastemakers at iam8bit.com, to reinvigorate the show and, frankly, to shake things up.”

The ESA is planning to revamp security measures to ensure that another leak of private information never happens. Which also occurred in 2018, 2006, and 2004.

Hopefully, another leak won't happen again. As someone who has been actively attending E3, it's one of my favorite times of the year. A time where the greatest people in the gaming industry come together to talk about their upcoming projects.
