The recent installment in the God of War series has reignited the franchise to new heights. Now, Sony has confirmed during a presentation that Kratos' latest adventure has reached 10 million sales.
God of War launched last year in April and was an instant hit. With critics and gamers calling it a masterpiece that showcased the god-killer Kratos in a new light. Stepping out of the series comfort zone of a fixed camera linear adventure for a more open world experience with a brand new over the shoulder look. Serving as both a sequel and soft reboot of the entire franchise.
God of War isn't the only sold exclusive to reach this milestone this generation. With Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and The Last of Us PS4 Edition also reaching the 10 million mark.
God of War takes place years after the events of God of War 3. With Kratos leaving Greece for Midgard. Having started a new life and family Kratos must fulfill the final wishes of his late wife and travel to the highest peak with his son Atreus to scatter her ashes.
