The release of Final Fantasy VII Remake has had many on edge. Most gamers thought it would be canceled after Square Enix removed CyberConnect2 from development. Square Enix revealed that the game was in development but will need to release in parts or it will not happen. Now, that's absolutely certain that Final Fantasy VII Remake will come in multiple parts.
This information was divulged on Square’s official Japanese website and a press release after the new Final Fantasy VII Remake video went live during State of Play 2019.
“Final Fantasy VII Remake is a full remake heading to PS4,” the message on Square’s website stated and translated by Google “Most of the original’s content is being reworked, and as such the game will be in multiple parts. More information will be published this June, so stay tuned.”
The recent footage from Final Fantasy VII Remake was likely the first part of the game. Anyone who played the original will recognize the footage from the first disc prior to gaining access to the world map. It's likely that Square Enix is copying the original game's format and will release the game in 3-parts similar to the 3 discs that the original game launched in. But that's just my speculation.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is in development for PS4.
