Infinity Blade Removed From Fortnite Due to Sheer Power

The Infinity Blade causes havoc within Fortnite, Epic removes the weapon

Recently, Epic Games ceased support for the popular mobile title Infinity Blade and removed it from the app store. In response to the recent decision, Epic decided to immortalize the game in Fortnite by providing a blade fittingly called Infinity Blade as a pickup item but the weapon wasn't balanced.

According to users, the weapon was overwhelmingly powerful but also prevented players from building and harvesting resources. The weapon has been removed from the game but no word if it'll return or remain gone.

In their Reddit post, Epic stated,

The presence of Mythic items in gameplay is to provide an interaction a step above the Legendary item functionality and something you’ll continue to see. To us, that means changing the way the game is played for those who interact with that item. The addition of items in this tier provide new and flavorful ways to interact with the map and generally shake up normal play across default modes.

We’ll have some more info with regards to our competitive philosophy when it comes to new items, updates and seasons within Fortnite early next week.

Fortnite is now available for PC, Xbox One, PS4, mobile, and Nintendo Switch.
