After the massive success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Activision is rereleasing the entire Spyro the Dragon trilogy this September. However, those hoping to get the physical editions will be disappointed to hear that it only comes with the first game.
You'll still get Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon but as download titles only. This means the disc will only hold the first game in the Spyro the Dragon trilogy.
Activision decided to comment on the matter stating that this it's common for games to have day one patches, but this isn't an update. It's 2 entire games and seeing that the Crash Bandicoot trilogy has all three games in one package it's strange to offer only 1/3 of the entire game to customers who purchase the physical game. According to a representative who spoke to PlayStationLifesStyle.
“As with most games today, downloading an update after purchase is quite common. The language on packaging and on the web is to let players know the requirements for Spyro Reignited Trilogy.”
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy launches September 21 for PS4 and Xbox One.
