Fortnite is the biggest game on the planet right now so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the game has made a lot of money, but how much. According to a report from Games Industry through Superdata, Epic's free-to-play game has made 1 billion in microtransactions.

Since its launch, Fortnite's profits have been increasing each month with profits reaching $318 million in May alone. When launching on iOS the game made $1 million in sales in less than a week, so hitting 1 billion shouldn't come as a surprise.

Currently, season 5 is going on in Fortnite that changed much of the map and added new cosmetics for players to use and a deal with Funko to release toys this holiday season. Epic is looking to make a lot more money in the coming year.

Fortnite is now available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS devices in early access.
