Latest Moonlighter Patch Brings Changes To Its Item Popularity System

Moonlighter's "Time Is Money" patch focuses on the shop and village.

"Time Is Money" is not only a phrase famously used by Benjamin Franklin but also the name of Moonlighter's latest patch. It focuses on issues tied to the shop and village, the most important of which is the item popularity system. Although items were associated popularity ratings which would decrease if you kept selling many of the same item, customers didn't seem to avoid seemingly unpopular ones. The patch aims to change that, as item popularity now plays a much bigger role in whether or not people will take items off the shelves. Richer customers are no longer restricted to purchasing items solely from crystal showcases. Lastly, items placed in crystal showcases will now have an increased popularity level while also being thief-proof.

Horde rooms have also seen some changes as players are no longer able to open every chest in them, instead having a choice between opening a chest or continuing further to the next wave. In terms of quality of life improvements, the game now saves an item's last used price without needing to sell one and up to 99 potions can be purchased at the same time from the Witch. The patch also includes a series of fixes which can be seen here. Moonlighter will continue to get updates in the following months, as announced earlier this month. While reviewing Moonlighter, I enjoyed my time taking care of the shop and delving into dungeons for items to sell.
