Those looking to prove they're the best Fortnite player can earn big bucks in Epic's upcoming eSports competition. Today, the acclaimed developer and publisher stated they're entering the eSports league with an insane prize pool of $100,000,000.

According to Epic Games’ blog post, Epic is entering the eSports scene with a bang.

We’re getting behind competitive play in a big way, but our approach will be different – we plan to be more inclusive, and focused on the joy of playing and watching the game.

While this number is large, especially compared to other eSports competitions, it should've come as a surprise that Epic has this type of moneyFortnite has become the most played game in the world across all major platforms.

Fortnite is available as a free-to-play game in early access for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and iOS devices, with Android coming later this summer.
