People Can Fly, the people known for working on Bulletstorm and Fortnite, are officially working on a new game for Square Enix. The unannounced triple-a shooter is so big that People Can Fly has opened 2 studios, 1 in Newcastle, UK and Rzeszow, Poland.
CEO of People Can Fly, Sebastion Wojciechowski, stated the Newcastle studio was formed in September 2017 with former Ubisoft staff and will be made up of 20-30 developers by the end of 2018.
Rzeszow was formed recently and mainly consist of developers who were let go by CI Games following its reconstructing process last year. This means that over 150 people are working on this new shooter for Square Enix.
“Since People Can Fly became an independent studio again, our ambition has been to build a team of talented and experienced developers that can develop the best AAA games. We decided in 2017 to open a new studio in Newcastle, the UK, to attract not only local talent, but also to attract the best developers within the UK. We want this team to grow to 20-30 developers within the next 12-18 months.
When CI Games decided to restructure its operations, we immediately decided to open a new studio in Rzeszów to allow those great developers to keep on working together as a team, and to contribute to the game we’re working on. Our intention is to give both new studios, in Newcastle and in Rzeszów, the opportunity to work on features or part of the game independently from the Warsaw team.”
It's unlikely we'll hear anything on this new game at E3. Especially considering that Square Enix already has a lot of acclaimed titles in development such as Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and The Avengers.
