Nintendo has been releasing Wii U exclusive titles for the Nintendo Switch over the course of months. Completely abandoning the system and now with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze coming this week it would seem that Nintendo has decided to remove the game from the previous platform.
Nintendo gamers have noticed that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has been delisted from the digital store earlier today and the website. The reason for pulling it is likely to maximize sales since the game retailed on the Wii U for $19.99 and the Nintendo Switch version will launch at $59.99.
Still, this is an odd move considering that previously released titles that were ported to the Nintendo Switch are still available. Gamers can still purchase Pokken Tournament, Bayonetta 2, and Mario Kart 8.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze launches May 4th for Nintendo Switch.
